Sometimes the one that got away comes back again.
We’ve been commissioned to further develop designs for the cottage overlooking Loch Earn that we gained planning for back in 2016.

We’ve been appointed to deliver a new bar, dining room and offices at Prestwick Golf Club. I’m hoping there might be a new stair too, looking forward to working with 10 Design of Glasgow to develop the interiors together.
The office visited historic Fort Bourgoyne on the outskirts of Dover. We are hoping to make an intervention of some sort here, maybe we will start a School of Architecture.
After a successful pre-app last month, we have developed the designs of Fank House ready to submit for planning. We can’t wait to get this on site to see the ruin brought back to life.
On Tiree, we’ve submitted a pre-app for another distinctive grouping of buildings which huddle together to create a special house. More to come on this one…
Denizen Works have been developing concepts for a bespoke house of trees in a remote Norfolk forest to be constructed from the very trees that surrounds it. This option has a base block connected to the land with a bridge linking to the tower that relates to a clearing in the forest. Lovely.
We are delighted to announce that we have won the commission to ‘complete’ St. Clem’s on Fulham Palace Road. The project will see the addition of a new multi-functional hall with a 3-bedroom family apartment straddling the existing single storey structure.
Murray was up in Glasgow last Friday taking part in RIAS Live at the Merchant’s Hall on Glasgow’s George Square. Sharing the stage with Natasha Huq, Senior Associate at GRAS, Muyiwa Oki, RIBA President, the conversation was chaired by old friend of the studio, Rory Olcayto, Writer and critic at Pollard Thomas Edwards.
Murray’s talk focused on the future of architecture in Scotland and how the found shoe might prove to be an influence.
Further to August's announcement that Hundred Acre Wood had been longlisted for the RIBA House of the Year, we're delighted to share the news that we have made the cut for the shortlist along with five other projects, with the winner set to be revealed at the end of November. RIBA have commissioned a series of films on each shortlisted house and you can see Hundred Acre Wood here.
August saw us host two fantastic work experience students; Aaryan and Madisa. Both produced an excellent piece of work in a short space of time and we wish them all the best for their next steps, in what we are sure will be successful careers in the world of architecture. Pictured is Aaryan's micro-home, raised on stilts and located within a forest setting.
We're delighted that our planning application for Roseneath Farm was unanimously approved at committee. After a long process, it was reassuring to see the quality of the design recognised by the committee and for all of the team's the hard work to have paid off.
The proposal is for a new-build home stitched into the remnants of a former agricultural courtyard. The forms and materials of the new buildings are inspired by the agricultural context and orientated to maximise views of the landscape, whilst establishing a new relationship with the historic barn structure. This barn will be lovingly restored and accommodate external dining and living spaces, mediating between the courtyard and new living wing.
Further recognition for Hundred Acre Wood this month as we found out we have made the RIBA House of the Year Longlist and the Manser Medal AJ House of the Year Shortlist. Super stuff.
