We’re delighted to receive news that Haddo Yard, our first housing project, has been shortlisted for the 2019 RIBA South East Awards. The shortlist features 17 projects from across the south east with the winners set to be announced on May 23rd.
ASHTON ST PETER'S SCHOOL VISIT /
Andrew has been back to his old school to give a presentation on being an architect. As part of the workshop, the students were asked to design their dream home on an infill site before swapping drawings with their neighbours to design a school extension (with varying degrees of sensitivity to their host building…). The students were impeccably behaved and produced some confident and original work which they then presented to their classmates. Keep an eye out on our ‘Other Ideas’ page where we will be posting all of the students drawings…

Doolan Prize 2018 - Winner /
Murray attended the ceremony which saw Reiach and Hall win the 2018 Doolan Prize for the best building in Scotland. The event was held at the new V+A outpost in Dundee. Surely a contender for next year’s prize.

Murray is delighted to have been invited to take part in judging the 2018 Doolan Prize for the best building in Scotland. Results will be announced at the new V+A in Dundee. It was a great trip with Gordon Murray PPRIAS and Anna Liu of Tonkin Liu.
AJ Awards Shortlist /
We are delighted to have been shortlisted for the AJ Awards for Haddo Yard. We are in the Housing Projects under £10M category so we are up against it but you’ve got to be in it etc.
Bucharest - SHARE 2018 /
Murray was over in Bucharest this month sharing some of Denizen Works’ latest projects. They seemed to go down we are hoping that we will soon be welcoming new clients from across the Channel.
Site Progress /
We were pleased to get up to Tiree this month to tour round Mannal House with our Canadian based clients. The house should be finished in early Spring and is going to be a great follow up to House No.7

Planning approval has been granted for our vertical gallery and bird hide at Inverewe Gardens, as reported on the Architect's Journal website this week. The project represents another significant planning win for the office and a unique opportunity to enhance the visitor experience at one of the world's most celebrated gardens.

We've just submitted a planning application for a vertical gallery and bird hide at Inverewe Gardens, one of the UK's most spectacular botanical gardens. Our proposals have been featured on a number of prominent news outlets including The Times, The Architects' Journal and Dezeen.
All being well, the project is due to start on site in Autumn, 2018. Keep posted for further updates...
Frankentypes /
We were delighted to be asked to contribute to the Archifringe 'Frankentypes' exhibition in Edinburgh earlier this month. The exhibition featured drawings and models from a group of emerging practices based on hybrid typologies. Our project, The Villa Savoy, is an ark, based on Aalto’s classic Savoy glassware range and contains a mixed-tenure of housing and civic functions. We're looking forward to seeing where our model ends up next...
New Office /
Since the addition of Dimitri and Carl to the team, we are delighted to announce we are moving to Hackney City farm next week. We will update our contact details next week.
On top of packing up, we are busy finishing our model for the Architecture Fringe Festival in Edinburgh which opens in early June. We will have some more information on our proposals up on the website soon.
