Houses of Parliament by Murray Kerr

Murray was in the Houses of Parliament this week presenting our earthquake resistant Teahouse situated in the village of Phortse, Nepal. Since the presentation, Murray has been asked to give a follow-up presentation in the Scottish Parliament in June.

Berkhamsted Cemetery Benches by Murray Kerr

Andrew has won an open competition to design a new bench for Berkamsted Cemetery, beating over 50 international entries. We are looking forward to seeing the bench going into production and are delighted for him. Andrew is pleased that he is still considered young.

Floating Church by Murray Kerr

We are delighted to announce that we have won an invited competition to design a new floating church and community hub for the Diocese of London. We are busy developing the concept designs and hope that the church will be coming to a canal near you later this year.

New Bond Street by Murray Kerr

Just in time for Valentine's Day. We were delighted to be included on a short-list to design a new flower kiosk for New Bond Street in Westminster. Our proposals saw the creation of a curated object covered in bloom that allowed the stallholders to open and close the kiosk without packing and unpacking the flowers in the morning and in the evening.

Hackney Housing by Murray Kerr

Denizen Works were short-listed from over 60 entries to develop designs for a new 16-unit housing scheme in Clapton. The design takes material prompts from the surrounding architecture and re-created a lost landmark for the local area in the form of a clock tower.

Faience Tiles by Murray Kerr

We had an exciting visit to Darwen Terracotta this week to see the first firing of our faience tiles for the front of Haddo Yard in Whitstable. Looking forward to seeing them in place in the next month or so.

Lego by Murray Kerr

As part of the South Bank Centre's Nordic Season, Denizen Works were commissioned to develop designs for a series of Lego shelters for the roof of the South Bank. Our ideas were a take on a traditional Nordic Lavvu and are of scales for toddlers' play to spaces for discussion and debate. 

DMI 2017 by Murray Kerr

We are delighted to have made the short-list for Don't Move, Improve 2017. We won an award last year, so have our fingers crossed that we can pick up a prize again this year for Valhalla.

Hackney Housing by Murray Kerr

Denizen Works have been short-listed to develop a concept scheme for 16 new dwellings in East London for Hackney Council. We hope to bring more news on this exciting development soon.

PLANNING APPROVAL by Murray Kerr

Denizen Works are delighted to have received planning approval and listed building consent for a major addition to a pair of listed cottages in Shoreham, Kent. We are looking forward to developing the detailed design and getting the project to site in the coming months.

Homerton College by Murray Kerr

Denizen Works are delighted to have made it on to the long-list for a new dining hall at Homerton College in Cambridge.
