We are delighted to have made the short-list for Don't Move, Improve 2017. We won an award last year, so have our fingers crossed that we can pick up a prize again this year for Valhalla.

OLD FRIEND by Murray Kerr

An old client emailed us this picture of their (nearly) completed refurbishment and roof extension that we gained planning consent for a few years ago. If you're on City Road have a look out for it. I think it's the only rubber and mesh extension in the neighbourhood. The mesh is mimicking the brick piers rather nicely.

House No.7, Mies and Le Corbusier by Murray Kerr

House No. 7 has picked up another gong this week, not for the house itself but in cake form.

Tara Crooke, an architect from Aberdeen baked the cake as part of the Festival of Architecture 2016 for the Great Aberdeen Architectural Bake Off. Seeing off competition from Mies van der Rohe and Le Corbusier, House No.7 came up trumps. This may have been the hand of the baker rather than the architecture, but I won't get to write that sentence again.

Icing must be the sincerest form of flattery.
