CRUMLIN ROAD MASTERPLAN
Belfast, Ireland

The Crumlin Road masterplan represents a major step in the regeneration of the historically troubled north-east of the city of Belfast. The masterplan creates a new city quarter containing places to live, leisure facilities, a major new museum, a hospital, shopping a school and related sports activities.

The new plan will bring together two communities hampered by the hostilities of recent decades. Crumlin road Gaol, which forms a major gateway to the city, has for many years kept the two communities apart, acting as a blockage to any real interaction.

Area: 10.9 Ha / Budget: £231M / Masterplan submitted November 2007
